This month we will be at Rudy's Bar-B-Q in Denton.
We reserve the back room in advance.
Someone from the association is normally there by 6-6:30pm.
Show up as you can. This is an unstructured social event. We usually stay an hour or two. Regular "line service" is available for food and drinks.
Visit for awhile with other beekeepers. Get to know one another in an informal setting where we discuss all sorts of topics related to beekeeping, plants that bees like, etc.
We may even have heated debate over the ultimate hive design

Dr. Garett Slater, Leader of the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Apiary Program is inviting you and your fellow members to a day of Beekeeping information at AgriLife Research and Extension Center in Overton Texas.
Cost: Only $15 (to cover the cost of lunch)

Beehive Build
For those who purchased some of the new hive boxes, we will be having a “bee hive build” on March 22nd.
We should have some staple/nailguns onhand. Feel free to bring your own if you have a stapler.

Gretchen & Russ Killingsworth: Will talk with us about Beehive Inspections.
They have kept a few beehives in their backyard in a Fort Worth neighborhood for 12 years & harvested over a thousand pounds of honey.
Gretchen has taught the Metro Beekeepers class for 6 years.
Russ says he is Gretchen's Henchman & is also President of Metro Beekeepers.

American Beekeeping Federation Conference & Tradeshow
The American Beekeeping Federation 2025 Conference and Tradeshow
To be held at the Peppermill Resort Spa in Reno, Nevada on January 7 – 11.
Our Keynote Speakers have accepted our invitation and we’re delighted to have:
Dr. Marla Spivak from the University of Minnesota
Dr. Geoff Williams from Auburn University
Dr. Scott McArt from Cornell University
This year as a special bonus, Project Apis m. will be presenting Thursday morning followed by a luncheon. Lunch will be a ticketed event. In addition, Apiary Inspectors of America and ABRC will again join us.
